#WoW - Bent Over Reverse Dumbbell Flys
Bent Over Reverse Dumbbell Flys strengthens the upper back, shoulders, and core, helping runners maintain good posture and improve arm swing efficiency. It also reduces the risk of injuries by balancing muscle development and supporting better breathing mechanics. Stronger back muscles mean better endurance and less fatigue during long runs.
How to do it:
Hold a dumbbell in each hand, hinge at the hips, keeping your back neutral, and let your arms hang down.
Lift the dumbbells to the sides with a slight bend in your elbows until they align with your shoulders.
Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top, then slowly lower the weights back down.
Keep your core tight and avoid swinging your torso.
Start with 2 sets of 8 to 10 repetitions

Cheptegei, Chelangat Complete Ugandan Double in World 10K Bengaluru
Olympic champion Joshua Cheptegei (27:53) and fellow Ugandan Sarah Chelangat (31:07) claimed dominant victories at the World 10K Bengaluru 2025, marking Uganda’s first double win at the event.
In the men’s race, Cheptegei faced stiff competition from a fast-charging field that included Kenya’s Vincent Langat, Tanzania’s Gabriel Geay, and 17-year-old Eritrean phenom Saymon Tesfagiorgis Amanuel. The final 2K saw Cheptegei surge ahead to win in 27:53, just two seconds ahead of Saymon. “The young boys were aggressive today,” said Cheptegei. “It’s world-class racing out there.”
In contrast, Chelangat’s race was a solo masterclass. The Paris 2024 Olympian broke away within the first 2K and extended her lead, finishing in 31:07, nearly a minute ahead of second-place Cintia Chepngeno. Though she missed the event record, her dominance was very impressive.
Abhishek Pal and Sanjivani Jadhav Win at World 10K Bengaluru
India’s distance runners delivered strong performances at the World 10K Bengaluru 2025, with Abhishek Pal and Sanjivani Jadhav emerging as the fastest Indians in the men’s and women’s elite races.
Abhishek, fresh off the Federation Cup, clocked a personal best of 29:12, finishing seventh overall in a world-class field. It was a significant improvement from his 2022 timing (30:05) on the same course. Making his 10K debut, Sawan Barwal impressed with a 29:45 finish.
On the women’s side, experienced runner Sanjivani Jadhav retained her top spot among Indian elites with a time of 34:16, just days after completing a gruelling double at the Federation Cup. Bharti Nain (35:36) and Poonam Sonune (35:57) rounded out the Indian women’s podium.
New World Records for Finishers & Women’s only Marathon - As Assefa and Sawe Dominate The Fields at London Marathon 2025
The 2025 London Marathon smashed records across the board, with a historic 56,640 runners crossing the finish line - now officially the largest marathon ever, confirmed by Guinness World Records.
In the elite field, Ethiopia’s Tigst Assefa surged to victory with a stunning 2:15:50, setting a new women's-only world record and bettering last year’s course best. The Olympic silver medallist’s bold surge in the final 5K left Joyciline Jepkosgei and Sifan Hassan trailing behind.
In the men’s race, Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe delivered a breakout performance, clocking 2:02:27 to beat debutant Jacob Kiplimo and a field stacked with legends, including Eliud Kipchoge, who finished sixth.

#TipOfTheWeek - Don’t overthink mid-race — just flow.
It’s easy to get caught in your head during a race: “Am I going too fast?” “Can I hold this pace?” “What if I blow up?” When Scott Fauble was halfway through the NYC Marathon and realized he was running significantly faster than ever before, he had simultaneous thoughts of excitement about the potential outcome ("Holy shit! I’m gonna run 2:09 today!") and fear of the unknown territory he was entering ("Wow, that’s 90 seconds faster than I’ve ever gone out in a marathon.").
His coach Ben Rosario’s advice in that moment was simple: “That’s thinking. Just flow.”
For everyday runners, that means this: When your mind starts spiraling, bring your focus back to something small and immediate — like your breathing, your cadence, or just making it to the next kilometer marker.
Instead of analyzing how far you have to go or what pace you’re on, anchor yourself in the moment. You’ll be surprised how far that mindset can carry you, one focused step at a time.
#TriviaOfTheWeek: Bengaluru hosts the biggest 10K of India
The TCS World 10K Bengaluru, held on 27 April 2025, is now the largest 10K race ever held in India. The Open 10K category saw over 16,700 runners take to the streets of Bengaluru, including more than 13,000 men and 3,700 women. This marks a significant increase from previous years, where participation in the Open 10K had consistently stayed a little over 13,000.
