#WoW - Dumbbell Curls
Dumbbell Curls exercise helps runners build arm strength and endurance, leading to a steadier and more efficient arm swing during runs. Stronger biceps also improve upper body stability and balance overall strength, reducing the risk of injuries.
How to do it:
Stand tall holding a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing forward.
Keeping your elbows close to your sides, curl the dumbbells up toward your shoulders.
Squeeze your biceps at the top, then slowly lower the weights back down with control.
Keep your core engaged and avoid swinging your body.
Start with 2 sets of 8 to 10 repetitions
@GeeksOnFeet: Race Report: Boston Marathon 2025 by Murali
Murali clocked a strong 2:56:10 at the Boston Marathon 2025, his fifth sub-3 finish. His training cycle is interesting: a year-long base of 300–350 km/month, smart tapering, and elevation-focused runs helped him prepare for race-ready. Negative splits, perfect pacing, and crowd energy powered him through Boston’s hills, even Heartbreak felt manageable. A mild cramp scare at 36K slowed the final push, but the sub-3 goal stayed intact.

Race Report: TCS World 10K 2025 by Akshay
At TCS World 10K 2024, Akshay clocked 1:03:23. A year later, at the TCS World 10K 2025, he crushed his A-goal with a sub-60 finish (59:42) with a personal best. Here is his race report that goes into details on how he overcame a knee injury, and rebuilt by switching to Structured training. A good read for beginners and experienced runners alike.

Asics launches Metaspeed Ray, its lightest super-shoe
ASICS has launched its lightest high-performance shoe to date, the Metaspeed Ray, alongside the updated Metaspeed Sky Tokyo and Metaspeed Edge Tokyo. The standout of the launch was the Metaspeed Ray, which weighs just 128 grams for UK8, making it even lighter than Adidas’ Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2, which comes in at around 138 grams. The Metaspeed Ray features a new proprietary foam called FF Leap, stacked at 39 mm in the heel, just under the World Athletics limit for road racing shoes (40mm). It uses a shortened carbon plate placed from the midfoot to forefoot, aimed at optimizing energy return specifically for midfoot and forefoot strikers. Unlike the Evo 2, which is generally considered a one-race shoe, the Metaspeed Ray is expected to be durable enough to handle over 300 km of use, and also comes in cheaper at $300 (approx. ₹25,250), with a global launch expected around August 2025.
Eckert & Zaborsky Shatter Six-Day World Records
At the 2025 Six Days of France in Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, New Mexico ultrarunner Megan Eckert broke the women’s six-day world record by covering 603.156 miles (970.685 km) in 144 hours, eclipsing Camille Herron’s 2024 mark by 42.8 miles and becoming the first woman to surpass 600 miles. Russian veteran Ivan Zaborsky claimed the men’s title with 650.920 miles (1,047.554 km), edging Matthieu Bonne’s previous best by 1.26 miles in a contest that remained undecided until the final hours. #TipOfTheWeek - Your Ankle Sets the Chain In Motion
Running stride isn’t powered by isolated muscles, but it’s the result of coordinated kinetic chains. One such chain is in the lower body,, starting at the foot, going through the ankle, knee, hip, and pelvis. During running, ground reaction forces travel through this chain in less than 250-300 milliseconds. One of the important joints that can affect this kinetic chain is lack of ankle mobility (e.g., ankle dorsiflexion).
Limited dorsiflexion (the ability to bend your ankle upward) disrupts the chain reaction that transfers force from foot to hip. That can shift load to the knees or hips, alter your stride mechanics, and reduce running economy.
Test your ankle mobility (can your knee touch the wall from 10 cm away without lifting your heel). Improving ankle dorsiflexion restores proper sequencing up the kinetic chain, leading to smoother mechanics, reduced injury risk, and better propulsion.
