Weekly Poll
You’re training hard, but times aren’t improving. Your runs feel slow, no matter the effort. Your race times have stalled. Motivation dipped." All runners would've hit a plateau at some point.
What is the most important thing you did to break through? #geekspoll
The results of last week's poll on how runners tackle the final stretch of their marathons are here.
#WoW - Bicycle Crunches
Bicycle crunches help runners improve stability and form while reducing the risk of injury.
How to do it?
Lie flat on your back on a mat with your hands placed lightly behind your head
Bent your knees to about 90 degrees
Engage your core to protect your lower back during the movement.
As you begin, lift your shoulder blades off the ground and twist your torso to bring your right elbow towards your left knee.
While doing this, extend your right leg straight out, but keep it off the ground. You should feel your obliques working as you twist.
Without resting your head or shoulders back on the ground, switch sides.
Repeat the movement, alternating sides as if you're pedaling a bicycle.
@GeeksOnFeet: Tokyo Marathon 2025 In Numbers
The Tokyo Marathon 2025 kicked off the global marathon season, setting early trends for the World Marathon Majors. With runners from 123 countries, the event showcased remarkable international diversity. The USA led with 2,291 finishers, while top Asian nations like TPE (1,018) and CHN (814) made strong showings. Fast finishing times were a highlight - 26 runners finished under 2:10, and 1,647 under 3 hours. India’s modest 123 finishers averaging 4:38 is a bit of disappointment. Read more here.

Bib Switch Fraud at New Delhi Marathon
At the Apollo Tyres New Delhi Marathon, three athletes were banned for two years following a case of bib switching. Allegations emerged that a sports quota railway employee ran on behalf of a railway doctor’s wife, whose timing spiked dramatically after 34 km. NEB Sports confirmed that impersonating another runner constitutes cheating, prompting strict action to deter such incidents. The doctor clarified that his wife, who fell unconscious mid-race, was not banned, and her performance data has been removed. The Athletics Federation of India will review the case for further action. Read more here.
