Ankle Plantar Flexion with Band
Ankle Plantar Flexion is the movement of pointing the toes aways from the knees towards the floor. It is an important movement for runners, forming the part of the triple extension that generates power during the push-off. Strengthening the muscles that support plantar flexion can help prevent injuries such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and ankle sprains.
Ankle Plantar Flexion with Band is an effective workout that can help to strengthen the muscles for better & stronger plantar flexion.
How to do it?
Sit on the floor with one of your legs extended in front of you.
Take a resistance band and brace it around the ball of your foot
Hold the other end of the resistance band, and pull it towards you to create enough resistance as shown in figure A
Now push the foot away from you towards the ground and hold it for a second or two as shown in figure B
Slowly move it back in the original position
Repeat this on the other leg
When to do it?
You can do it as part of mobility, start with 2 sets of 15 on each foot. You can slowly increase the resistance or the number of sets for progression.

Adidas Adizero PrimeX 2.0 STRUNG
A shoe priced at ₹29,999?! That must be special. The Adidas Adizero Prime X 2.0 Strung is the highest-priced running shoe in the Indian market. Boasting a substantial stack height of 50mm, it deliberately challenges the legal norms set by World Athletics, carving a niche for itself in the process. It still maintains a lightweight profile with 255g (men's UK 8). The shoe has an 8.5mm heel-to-drop.
Iteration 2.0 features a flexible Strung upper, providing a sock-like fit. The midsole is equipped with dual carbon plates and three layers of Lightstrike Pro foam, enhancing stability and cushioning during runs. This modification, however, has resulted in a slight weight increase, transitioning the shoe from a super racer category to a super trainer, making it a preferred choice for daily training, long runs, and uptempo efforts. Currently available only for AdiClub members, it is the shoe for those who want comfort and bounce and have no problems with that price.

#TipOfTheWeek: Cycling as Cross-Training
Last week, we explored the benefits of swimming as a cross-training option for runners. This week, let's dive into another fantastic cross-training activity: cycling. Incorporating cycling, both indoor and outdoor, into your training regimen can have numerous advantages. Cycling is a lower-impact exercise that allows you to maintain cardiovascular fitness while giving your joints a much-needed break from the repetitive impact of running. Outdoor cycling provides variety and the opportunity to explore new routes, which can enhance your mental well-being and keep your workouts exciting. On the other hand, indoor cycling on a stationary cycle can be a great option when the weather doesn't cooperate or you are busy attending a not-so-important virtual work meeting. To reap the most benefits, consider cycling 1-2 times a week in addition to your running routine. These cycling sessions can range from easy recovery rides to high-intensity intervals, catering to your specific training goals. Cycling helps improve overall leg strength, boosts aerobic capacity, and can aid in preventing overuse injuries commonly associated with running.
#TriviaOfTheWeek: Mobot and other interesting tidbits about Sir Mo Farah
Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah popularly known as Mo Farah is a British-Somali athlete. Considered as one of the greatest middle-distance runners, he is a double Olympic champion. Has won 5,000 mts and 10,000 mts in the London 2012 Olympics and Rio 2016 Olympics. After retiring from track events he started participating in road races and marathons. In 2018 he won the Chicago Marathon.
Mo Farah marks his victories with a celebratory dance known as the "Mobot". The Great North Run marked Mo Farah’s final competitive appearance in the race. A Metro Cube near Tyne and Wear Metro's Heworth Interchange in Gateshead has been remodeled to look like a silhouette of Farah's famed Mobot Celebration to commemorate the occasion.
